In activity 1 in the Portfolio of Evidence for the Interpersonal Leadership we ask you to convert some sentences to “I” statements. The video clip recaps on the concepts of the “I” language or “I” statements. They then expand to discuss the WISH formula to use the “I” statements effectively in real situations.
Exploring some of the dimensions of EQ or EI as some call it.
In this clip you can actually see two of the dimensions of EQ, namely, Independence and Reality Testing.
Firstly the example of the dimension of independence. – George: “Before you came into my life, I was capable of making all kinds of decisions, now I can’t, I’m addicted — I have to know what you think. What do you think?”
Then the example of the dimension of Reality Testing. – Lucy: “George, I think you’re the most selfish human being on the planet.” George: “Well, that’s just silly. Have you met everybody on the planet?”
