Wisdom is the quality of having experience, knowledge and good judgment. The quality of being wise or having wisdom is not something that can be obtained overnight, purchased Online or taught during evening class.

Wisdom is a human condition. A human condition that is gained from living life and learning from all of life’s experiences, pursuing knowledge by acquiring facts and seeking knowledge from others who are wise and knowledgeable, and from continually making good and sound judgment calls based on life experiences and knowledge gained.

Can decision fatigue affect you?

Lately there have been many articles and post published concerning the simplistic and rather monotonous dress code of successful individuals. These individuals, United States President Barack Obama, Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg and the late Steve Jobs from Apple and others, have all simplified their wardrobes down to merely one or two outfit changes with the same motivation of ‘decision fatigue’.

Decision fatigue is a real psychological condition, a condition brought on by being mentally exhausted as a result of making numerous irrelevant and meaningless decisions. This form of fatigue ultimately hampers productivity and the ability to make sound judgement calls and the right decisions, often even leaving a person completely indecisive and unable to make any decision at all, also known as decision avoidance.

A team can be seen as a group of individuals that work together towards a common goal or vision and who share in its rewards. The collective sum of the strengths and weaknesses determine the successes or failures of any team. In order to succeed as a team, putting in effort in developing the very core strengths and skills of each team member is indispensable as is identifying and resolving the weaknesses and shortcomings of each member.

Building a ‘winning’ team is the primary purpose and focus of team building and thus investing in it makes sense as it will define the level of success, in practically every area, of a business or organisation.

Does your business play “follow the leader” or is your business the leader?  How you answer the question says a lot about your business and your target market.

If your business caters to a “niche” market, then your business should be on the leading edge of trends that pertain to that business.  Why?  Because a niche market is usually a small market, and there is not a lot of “wiggle” room; hence, your business must target and capture a good percentage of that market.  Research your market niche and understand your customer well, as this knowledge will motivate all of your business’s marketing strategies.

Families need leadership. Schools and universities need leadership. Non-profit and charitable organizations need leadership. In fact, whenever there is an opportunity for two or more people to collaborate in order to get something done, leadership is a key ingredient.
